A Fold Apart shows the struggles of a long-distance relationship and puts an intuitive spin on triumphing over that vast space between you by folding your surroundings.
Long distance relationships are hard and require a lot of effort from both parties to work, but you’re here to help a teacher and an architect make sure their love survives. These two characters will have to work together (with your help) to find their way to each other through creative folding and unfolding, reshaping stages to bring the couple back together whenever they’re apart.
You will be able to manipulate a huge setting that is an entire sheet of fold-able landscape. You can pull the entire side of the screen over to the opposite side to bring platforms over, or fold the tops to manipulate gravity. The game will really make you work for your relationship and prove your love through these origami obstacles. While you solve these puzzles, you will also watch your love story unfold (pun intended), and only your puzzle-solving skills will allow you to progress. You will be challenged in every direction across more than 50 trials of folding that will also show the emotional complexities of both sides of the relationship.
On top of this visual representation of the hardships that come with separation, A Fold Apart makes sure that every couple feels representation. The two characters may be both male, or female, or any mixture in between – or just two folks who are in love. There’s love in every direction and they all face the same mountainous journey in long distance dating.
A Fold Apart is available on Apple Arcade, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Steam, and Xbox One.
