You’re a pig farmer who no longer wants to dispose of bodies for the mob. Your friend is an assassin sent to kill you over that decision. Adios explores your last day together.
You’re not a secret hitman yourself. You’re not going to draw from a hidden stockpile of weapons to blast your way out. You’re just a farmer who’s been dragged into some sickening work for some shady characters. Maybe you needed money. Maybe they knew something about you that you didn’t want getting out. I don’t know why the farmer started helping the mob, but it’s finally worn them down to the point where they need to stop. But you don’t get to stop once you start disposing bodies for mobsters, do you?
You’ve made a few ‘friends’ over your time helping the mob, one of them being an assassin. He arrives with a body when you finally drum up the courage to tell him you won’t help with that stuff any more. He’s a good enough friend that he doesn’t want you to die over this decision, but not so good that he won’t be the one to kill you over it if he can’t convince you to change your mind. It’s a difficult situation to be in, one you’ll discuss together over the course of a single day working on the farm.
Adios looks to be a tense experience as you navigate the conversation between the two characters throughout the day, but also one of deep internal reflection and self-examination. It would be easy to just continue to do what the mob wants since this is only a game. Still, it looks to ask you how you would feel in this situation and what you would decide in the end, making for what might be a captivating narrative game.
Adios is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist or follow its creation on Twitter.
