Baseball, But Fun doesn’t have you running bases much, but you will be putting you bat to good use in this sport-themed action game.
I’m not sure who your little baseball player has angered, but this field seems to be under the control of some strangely hostile forces. Creatures seem determined to stomp you. Machines hurl baseballs at you, trying to crush you. You have a bat and the ability to do a little hop. So, you’ll need to start knocking those baseballs aside and clobbering the creatures that are trying to grab you. You can solve both of those problems with a carefully-aimed hit, though.
The field seems to ripple and rumble with the impact of what’s going on, making the whole game feel like it’s taking place on top of ground that moves like liquid. It loans a real sense of impact to thumping foes or taking a hit (once you’ve been smacked four times, you’re done, which is indicated by the field lights). Things get pretty hairy in a hurry, and while you might be inclined to just slam the mouse button to keep swinging your bat, that arc takes a little bit of time to land. If you can hit an enemy while smacking a ball at another, then you’re playing this game how it’s meant to be played.
Baseball, But Fun is a…well…fun take on the sport, using bat swings and hitting balls to make an appealing wave-based action game. Suddenly, I have a little bit of interest in the sport.
