Everyone was perfectly fine to offer you prayers in exchange for fair winds and great catches, but when it comes time to pay up, suddenly nobody seems to remember old Dagon.
In Sea Salt, you are controlling a horde of your faithful minions in order to make the people of a quiet fishing town pay for slighting you. You did help them have some good times with your godly powers in exchange for certain things, and now it’s time to pay up. You’ll help guide your minions through the various cities of the area, attacking the people within to punish them for taking advantage of such a generous god.
While you’re a powerful, ancient deity, your minions are a bit more squishy and mortal. And these townsfolk don’t really appreciate you slaughtering them, so they’re going to start fighting back. You control your whole horde at once, so you’re going to want to find ways to skirt around dangerous opponents, or surround people so that they give up in terror. Terror does make things so much easier.
You’ll slowly gain a tarot deck filled with various monstrosities to bring to bear on these people, which is nice because these creatures work around some of the defenses the townsfolk will concoct. Knowing which creatures to use at the right time means you won’t be embarrassing poor Dagon with a weak show of revenge. Plus, having a bunch of horrors to attack with makes for a much more interesting show of monstrous power. Wouldn’t want to look lame in front of these townsfolk, would you?
Sea Salt is available now on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam.
