Beholgar sees you guiding the title character through a countryside full of skeletons, living fires, and nasty people so he can beat up an evil god. At least you have a lot of toys to use against them.
Wizards and Warriors just don’t get along. That’s just the natural order of things. ESPECIALLY when those wizards start summoning gods all willy-nilly. Then, it of course falls to a warrior to deal with the problem. Without a shirt on, as is the law amongst warriors. Shirts are much too constricting when you’re throwing axes, swinging swords, double jumping, climbing walls, and flinging fireballs and laser beams. And hucking around potions that make ice blocks for you to climb on, too. You’re going to be very busy and leaping around a lot, and the last thing you need is a shirt tangling you up. Or pants, for that matter. The more stuff that’s dangling in the wind, the easier it is to move, right?
You’ll need all of this stuff to make your way through the winding, interconnected world of the game, as it’s full of big pits, spikes, skeletons, and secrets (Now skeletons and secrets? THOSE are best pals). You have a lot of options to use to fight everything, so it’ll be up to you to pick out what tools make your life easiest. Although, at points, you’ll need specific things to find hidden paths or navigate to new areas. There is a lot of exploration involved in all this god-fighting stuff. You’d think a god would be willing to just do their own dirty work. They always get skeletons to do everything for them, though/
Beholgar is a welcome throwback to a lot of old arcade games and action/exploration titles, offering varied action across gloomy places. Just try to stay warm while you wander, though. It’s chilly with no pants on.
Beholgar is available now on Steam.
