Bend-jo sees you folding the world up around you using music so that you can figure out a way to reach various golden doors.
A genie grants your wish to be able to change the world with your music. Even if this isn’t quite what you had in mind, the ability to roll the ground up around you is pretty neat, you have to admit. The trouble is that someone has littered the place with spikes and pits, so you can’t just enjoy folding the universe up like an old carpet. That said, this power is extremely handy when you need to carefully make your way around those spiked pits in order to get home.

By stopping to play a meandering banjo song, you can roll each area up until it connects with the other side of the map. A hidden power that doesn’t have anything to do with your music is also that you can walk on any surface so long as it is safe and connects to the ground you’re on at the moment. Even if that means walking right up a wall, you can do it. By carefully examining how the ground is laid out with every fold and what that means for your movement, you’ll be able to find some means of getting to the exit. Naturally, this felt like it was messing with my brain within about three levels. But in a good way!
Bend-jo will have you folding and unfolding the world over and over again as you wrap your head around how you need to progress. That said, it feels really satisfying to figure out where you need to move. And it’s just as satisfying to see everything get rolled up, your character along with it, the whole time you’re trying to sort things out.
