I mean, it’s not like they can chop your head off if they don’t have limbs to swing their nasty hook arms, right? You need to always be thinking ahead here.
CONTENT WARNING – Gore, substance abuse, violence
Fear & Hunger: Termina takes you to 1942, but reality is a bit different. Still pretty grim, but the occult and otherworldly monstrosities factor in a lot more than the regular human atrocities of the period. A handful of different people are trying to eke out a life without getting their necks chomped on, and you can pick any one of them to help out. Or not, as the game can be quite challenging. But hey, at least you gave it a shot. How long did you really expect to live when there were monsters with hook hands wandering around?
If you’d like to keep your character alive for a little while, you may want to take advantage of the dismembering combat system. Again, it’s hard to bite you without a mouth, so work over those nasty limbs as fast as possible. Hopefully the monsters aren’t thinking the same about you.
Fear & Hunger: Termina is a follow-up to Fear & Hunger (which my brain keeps insisting on calling Fear & Loathing), yet another deeply depressing, deeply upsetting RPG. You don’t need to play the former to enjoy the horrifying, dangerous world of the latter, though, so feel free to dive in wherever you like and start lopping limbs off. Preferably while keeping some of your own intact.
