A seemingly-ordinary hallway loops and loops on itself, steadily unveiling new terrors and unsettling events in Conan Room.
In Conan Room, you’ll be in charge of a protagonist wandering a very normal-looking home with dark secrets. Even with no understanding of Japanese, players looking to get their daily dose of heebie-jeebies should try it out, seeing how long they can deal with its increasing dread.
Even though this appears to be a very normal (although abandoned) -looking house, something is off about it, and things continue to get more cryptic as the setting slowly changes. You’ll have access to a bedroom and hallway at the start of Conan Room, all with very minimal interaction. A portrait of two boys, a notebook, and a telephone. Standard stuff. Once you exit through the front door, you’ll go through some concrete walkway and wind up back in the bedroom (sound familiar?), but with small changes (like notebook dialogue). You’ll soon gain access to the other rooms by checking updated items, working towards the discomforting presence that lies in all this normalcy.
Showing a masterful hand at both visual and audio cues, Conan Room capitalizes on the unsettling and cryptic and conjures up a terrifying story that will leave you terrified of repeating the loop. Though there is some Japanese text and speech, it’s minimal and you can still get sufficiently terrified (I know I did).
Conan Room is available for free on FreeM. You can also check out the developer on Twitter.
Really like the pixelart of this game. It reminds at Habbo Hotel and those grey-legal copycat Holo Hotels (but good because free taler and vip membership etc. at my times).
Wish you said more about the woman-friendlyness/or woman-NONfriendlyness in this game. It doesn’t look like there are any girls… I guess this is maybe better than the usual pornofication of girls/femal protags. and npcs.
Regards.
