Cultist Simulator, the roguelike narrative card game that has you seeking personal gain through mystic power, sanity-crushing rituals, and the power of cosmic monstrosities, has just gotten a bit harder with its New Game + mode.
Cultist Simulator tells an unsettling story of horrors both human and beyond through player decisions and played cards. You may find yourself forming your own disturbing religion, seeking favor from monstrous deities, indoctrinating the innocent, and doing any diabolical, evil act you can muster to grow your power. Whatever you decide to do, you’ll need to do it quickly, as your options are on a time limit, forcing you to make complex calls that may save or doom you with only a few seconds to consider.
That may sound challenging enough on its own, but Cultist Simulator‘s New Game + aims to make things even more difficult for the power-hungry. Adding a great deal of story and four demigods to fight through your lust for power, you’ll find yourself hard pressed to have your cult come out on top. These beings are more than willing to kidnap your family, destroy your finances, and generally strip you of all the power you’ve worked so hard to build, making them extremely challenging to outwit. But at least you’ll make a great story as you suffer, right?
Cultist Simulator is an intriguing game of quick calls and crafted narratives, letting you tell your own story and suffer the consequences from it. With this new mode, there’s just a lot more consequences to be suffered, that’s all. And some more lore, too! So at least you’ll have some nice, macabre backstories to read as your story comes to ruin.
