Cursed Castilla, a sidescrolling action romp through Spanish/European folklore and historical places, has brought its vicious challenges to the Nintendo Switch.
Cursed Castilla finds you dealing with some supernatural troublemakers who’ve taken over the countryside of Tolomera del Rey. They’ve been unleashed by a demon using a key made of a witch’s tears, and they’re pretty nasty. Let’s just say that you’re not the only knight King Alphonse VI sent to deal with these beasts. The rest weren’t quite up for the Ghosts N’ Goblins challenge of Cursed Castilla, though.
You might be, through some clever use of the game’s varied throwing weapons and other handy tools. You’ll need to jump and attack very carefully, though, and avoid the attacks of the game’s many mythological creatures to make it to the end. Cursed Castilla does grant you infinite continues, so patience will eventually let you win the day, but you have limited lives per continue, so you’ll have to get good at it eventually.
That said, Cursed Castilla rewards the skilled, giving different endings depending on how little you continue throughout the adventure. There’s also a few more endings to unlock based on finding some hidden goodies, so you’ll need to scour the world while also keeping from being mauled by metallic Don Quixotes. Well, at least there’s just one of those jerks.
Cursed Castilla is available on the Nintendo Switch, 3DS, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, and Steam.
