Deckonauts is a factory-style game, where you play as a person in charge of commanding robots to build, terraform, and power up bunny planets.
I played a demo at BCN Game Fest where I did enjoy how well the game was made. You control a little set of bunny people who are looking to change different places in the world. Using your deck of cards, you need to create a chain of different energy pulses that satisfy the conditions of the infrastructure that is needed for the current civilisation that you are looking to grow. The rounds work in a way that you get to spend your energy on cards, placing towers or items onto the grid-style world, then the grids activate before your turn starts again.

Each world has a set number of cycles that will be completed before you need to win the game. Deckonauts is one of those games that do require a lot of thinking and planning ahead, but also a bit of luck when it comes to your cards. In the turn where pulses activate, you can watch your different reactors pulse out an orb, which can activate other units around the map, hopefully activating the things that are required for the end of the level.
I do not play a lot of these types of turn-based games, but the tutorial of Deckonauts was easy to follow and I found myself solving levels with a bit of thinking before moving onto the next. Some of the later worlds in the game itself do look quite challenging, with lots of different cards that can end up in your deck, limited space on the map, and bits of the world that are already blocking key points you might have wanted to use.

Deckonauts is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist.
