Dread X Collection 2 will have players attaching squirrels to bodies to meet god, dealing with suddenly-sentient arcade machines, and trying to woo cosmic monstrosities.
This new collection, a follow-up to the previous one released in May, brings twelve more developers together, tasking them with making a game in twelve days based on the theme of LOVECRAFTING. Each has created a unique vision for players to explore and survive, with many taking it in some very, very different directions (hence the kissing of cute tentacled creatures).
What sort of things will you be up to this time? Dealing with the eerie aftermath of a late night spent playing video games (maybe that’s a bit too real). Finding a missing person by deciphering a note in a strange language (and avoiding some nasty thing lurking among the books you’re using to translate). Seeking out geological figures beneath the surface of the moon (I’m sure this goes well). And again, the whole stapling of squirrels to a corpse to meet god. There’s a lot going on in that last one, I feel.
Those are just a few of the varied experiences that await you in the collection (assuming you don’t get too caught up trying to romance that eldritch horror and don’t play anything else). If you’re in the mood for a massive variety of horror games, it’ll definitely give you a myriad number of surreal tales and spooky things to fear.
Dread X Collection 2 is available now on Steam.
