You have been discarded as trash, but with some platforming and seed-sewing, you can turn your new wasteland home into a beautiful place.
Ectolibrium casts you as the Outlier, a being discarded in a barren land. You can hop about and cling to surfaces to explore, drawing upon found ectoplasm to move through the air. While that hopping around is all well and good, you can also pick up valuable nutrients. These can be used to spread seeds that will give this grim, strange land a new life.
Not everyone is keen on your vision for this world. Grasping tentacles, angry aliens, and lost elements of a failed utopia aim to make things difficult for you as you go. You’ll need to stay on the move and keep spreading those seeds to get them to change their ways.
As you move through Ectolibrium, you’ll be badgered by Demi and Tillinghast, a pair of humanoid beings with their own stories and agendas in this world. You’re free to listen to them or ignore them as you please, finding your own way through the narrative. You’re also free to drown or save lost souls found throughout the ruins, or even ignore everything and just move through the lands as fast as you can. Your experience throughout Ectolibrium is whatever you wish to make of it.
Ectolibrium is available now on Steam.
