Everdream Valley is an adorable farming game where you can spend a few months helping your grandparents work the fields and raise the livestock.
Slice of life, farming indie games are among some of my favorites. Stardew Valley, The Good Life, and many more have sucked up a lot of hours of my day, and allowed me to be transported to a new place. Everdream Valley is a similar type of game, this time allowing you to be a young boy looking to help his grandfather with fixing up their farm. You have an inventory of tools that you can use to clean up your farm and solve tasks that your grandfather wants you to do. On your first day at the farm, you are looking to repair a sheep’s pen, and then herd a bunch of sheep into it. You can use your dog to help you, and a sheep whistle that you get from your grandfather.
From there, you will continue to learn how to live off the land and grow your farm; raising crops, creating more pens for animals, helping your grandfather through quests, and collecting resources around the farm so that you can continue to build and grow. The visuals themselves in Everdream Valley are very cute and fun. It feels like a cartoon world that is happy and pleasant to explore.
Along with all of this really delightful, relaxing day-to-day life, there are also pests that you need to take care of, equipment to upgrade, and lots of different ways to spend your time. You are only at the farm for two months during the summer holiday while you’re off of school, so you will need to make the most of your time with your grandparents!
Everdream Valley is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist.
