Forgetter sets you free in the minds of great artists, tasking you with destroying their bad memories and trauma so their genius can be used by others.
CONTENT WARNING – Traumatic memories
In the future, people are looking to pass on the clever minds of skilled artists, musicians, and writers to other folks. Trouble is, most people have all of these pesky bad memories and traumas. Such a nuisance to deal with when you just want the good furry drawing skills from their minds, right? Well, Mindjob has the solution you’re looking for, offering memory smashing services that will ensure that no pesky bits of bad thoughts or unwanted memories make their way over with those fantastic drawing skills.
This is where you come in. As a Forgetter, you get to plunge into the minds of these deceased artists and clean up everything that isn’t desirable for the client. This typically means seeking out past traumatic memories and bashing them to pieces, but maybe some other memories can go along the way. You’ll want to comfort the artist’s mind, though. Can’t have them getting all upset just because you erased their memories of someone important to them while getting too excited with your brain demolitions.
Forgetter takes players to some uncomfortable places as it asks us what parts of our memories make us who we are, as well as what it might mean for us to completely shed the darker pieces of our pasts. Also, the selling of artist’s minds and how messed up that is, yet I know there would be companies tripping over themselves to do it.
Forgetter is available now on Steam Early Access.
