Jason is up to his old shenanigans, only this time, he moves in a straight line until he hits a wall or a victim in Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle.
Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle puts players in a variety of lethal situations at Camp Crystal Lake, in a prison, in icy lands, and several other places, tasking them with helping the murderer ply his ruthless trade. Each location is split into several small stages, all filled with victims and varied objects. You need to run into those victims to kill them, exiting each puzzling stage to move to the next when you’re out of people to eliminate.
Jason is very direct in his movements, though, only being able to move in a straight line until he hits something. This means players will need to use the environment and the victims within it to move around, figuring out just how to slide Jason around so that he can reach all of his targets. This seems easy at first, but unless you’ve got a bit more thinking power than the lumbering brute, you’ll have a hard time hunting everyone down. This is especially true when cops, swat teams, fires, and pools of water start getting in your way and forcing you to really plan your route.
Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle rewards you with new variants on Jason’s outfit and killing implements if you do well, and also offers daily challenges for those who get good at guiding Jason around. If you’re finding his kills a bit too hard to stomach, you can also shut off the more lethal animations and replace them with something a bit more tolerable. If you want your puzzles with a bit more gore, though, offers a lot of deadly variety.
Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle is available for $19.99 on the Nintendo Switch, and is free-to-play on the App Store, Google Play, and Steam.
So… Slayaway Camp with the actual licenses, basically?
That’s pretty much it exactly, as the developer of Slayaway Camp got the Friday the 13th license and then built this out of it.
