Game Devs of Color Expo has brought together a great lineup of speakers and games for you to check out from September 19-20. Your weekend has just vastly improved.
This online conference (yay for no lineups to play anything) is bringing you a bunch of sharp games to try out. Feel free to get your hands on Garden Story, a game about helping veggie folks deal with an invasive rot by inspiring the community. How about trying Keylocker, a game of rebellious music played to battle the cruel authorities of the world through rhythm? Spend some time with LIONKILLER, which tells the story of Hua Mulan being conscripted in the First Opium War against the British Empire (but hopefully finding time to kiss some gals along the way). An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs doesn’t even need an explanation, does it? I’m assuming that if you read this site, that title alone is enough to get you interested in that one.
There’s also a great crew of speakers for you to listen to about an array of subjects, with Chase Bethea dropping knowledge about his work as a composer, Ethan Redd sharing his experience as an art director and designer (do check out Blazing Legion: Ignition to see the stunning work he does), Victoria Tran delving into her work with the fantastic narratives and varied play styles of Kitfox Games, and many more. It’s a wealth of knowledge from some incredibly talented folks in the games industry at a steal of an entry price. You can find the full schedule here if you’re curious.
Also, the expo has some pretty neat stuff happening on the front page of Steam for the next few days (interviews, discounts, and some sharp new demos), and there’ll be some game announcements and trailers happening on YouTube at 1pm EDT today as well. There’s a lot going down, and you’re going to want to take part.
Game Devs of Color Expo is happening online from Sept 19-20, and you can grab tickets to attend from Eventbrite.
