GDevelop Game Jam’s winners give players many things to construct, be they starships, settlements, words, adventures, or even the game itself.
Five games make up the main winners of the jam. In Hero Builder, you will have to build helpful items as you race to save your kidnapped love from a nasty witch. If there’s a cliff in your way, you can slam down some blocks to fill it up. If a wall is blocking your path, you can drop a mushroom to bounce on to leap over it. You just need to do so very fast in order to keep up with the kidnapper. Ruined Ruins has you dredging up letters from the earth so you can use them to spell words that will rebuild the fallen ruins around you. Thankfully, some of the old letters remain standing to give you a clue about what the words are. Superstruct sees you building your own starship before shooting down alien hordes.
Taking second place in the GDevelop Game Jam, Northburg is about building a settlement using the resources in a snow-swept area. Some dang invaders keep showing up and trying to wreck everything, though, so you also need to prepare some defenses to keep your new structures safe. There’s not much point in protecting the structures if you don’t have enough food to keep your townsfolk fed, though. In first place, //TO:DO draws from the jam’s tool, GDevelop, in some funny and fun ways. In it, you need to use events, similar to how the tool works, in creative ways to overcome each stage. Pretending to be an unfinished game, you will learn all about possible tools as you find the best escape route.
