Can you imagine being a cute little two-story house, minding your own business, when along comes a gigantic textile factory to sit next to you?
Well, it’s time to practice some empathy with our architecture in ‘Buildings Have Feelings Too!‘, an adorable addition to the city building genre. There is a lot of charm in this city builder, and a lot of thought as well. You’ll have to think about how to place buildings to keep everyone chummy. To think like a building, you must be a building.
When I played ‘Buildings Have Feelings Too!’, I was ready to bring some cheer to my small town. I found out very quickly that you have to think about these buildings’ personalities. A residential building would not want to be near a busy/noisy/smoky factory. It may relish in having some local food marts or clothing stores, though. These are the kind of decisions that you must think of and if you keep everyone happy, you’ll be able to upgrade your buildings and get specialists (which are required for certain upgrades).
I never thought I would say “These buildings are so cute,” but found myself thinking that while playing at Pax East as I ushered a building to a more suitable area. The buildings even talk to each other and have hopes and dreams. If that isn’t adorable, I don’t know what is.
It is very clear how much effort went into designing each of these buildings and making them look realistic while giving them a delightful charm. It’s a tough line to walk and the developers do it well. I am absolutely ready to make friends with buildings and bring about the happy ending they so obviously deserve.
Buildings Have Feelings Too! Is coming soon to Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Steam, and Xbox One.
