The money is in the bank, and you want that cash. There’s just one thing to do: pull off a Hei$t.
As an extension of my day job, I’ve played (and been along to a lot of talks about) incremental games. You know the games — idle games, clickers, or whatever you call them. The biggest point of discussion is frequently the extremely in-depth juggling of numbers, and the complex statistics and spreadsheets that go with it. As such, it’s always incredibly impressive when a little incremental game with a solid theme and a little bit more than a big sheet of numbers pops up. Hei$t is exactly that.
I’ll admit, when I first saw Hei$t, I thought it might be an actual heist game; something like a rapid-fire, quirky take on Payday. Ultimately, I wasn’t disappointed, as there’s a lot to like in the small slice of incremental game that we get to see in this LD45 game. For a start, there’s a really fun sequence of animations which play out once you put the heist mode onto automatic. Little robbers run from the van to the bank and out to freedom.
Its an incredibly simple concept, and while it doesn’t really go anywhere at the moment (I can imagine a fully fledged version with escalating banks and security), there’s a really good groundwork there for something special to be made. But regardless as to whether anything more ever comes of it, it’s a great little clicker with a very fun theme.
Hei$t is available now on itch.io.
