Our IG+ First Look at The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters makes for a less-than-subtle reminder of just how frightening a homicidal teacher can be.
Another unfortunate student has awoken at night at Sehwa High, and things seem a bit more tentacle-y than they used to be. Also, while your teacher might have been upset at you for that B+ you got on your test earlier (which seems excessive), she’s far more frightening when she’s charging at you down the hall while swinging a bloody knife (which is even more excessive).
Devespresso Games haven’t lost a step in making your teacher, Ms. Song, as frightening a protagonist as she was in the last game. She tends to come rushing out of nowhere, sending you into a blind panic as you struggle to put together any kind of coherent thought that will carry you to safety. If she’s not around, you can hear her heels tapping against the hard floor, a terrifying echo that announces the villain getting closer and closer. The fear you feel when you hear those taps speed up is something else, I tell you.
The sequel branches out into many different areas in a hurry, seeming to offer many side quests and extra activities you can take on throughout each spot. These give the game more variety than its predecessor, and also allow you to decide if you want to putter around and put yourself in more danger or hurry through each place. That said, if you don’t make certain preparations at points, you might find yourself losing health permanently, loading these choices with danger. With solid scares like the first game, and some nice new additions for this one, The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters continues to build upon the developer’s solid reputation for good horror.
The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters is available now on Steam.
