Roguelite action game Rift Keeper offers many items to use against the monsters within its gloomy halls. However, most of these things will hurt you as they help you.
Gates have been opened. You know, THOSE gates. Not like the garden gate and some mischievous rabbits have gotten in. Well, unless you consider the world like a garden, and the rabbits are more like demons, and humans are the delicious veggies they want to snack on. Rift Keeper puts you in charge of dealing with worlds filled with horrific critters before they cause too much trouble. Just try not to die while you’re at it, as it tends to end your adventure.
Your starting equipment will only get you so far in Rift Keeper. This is because the monsters grow stronger the further you get through the game’s thirty dungeons. To keep up with their rising power, you’ll need to equip items and tools you find. The trouble is, most of these come with some hindrance on top of the benefits they offer. You may be better at lopping off heads, but your health might constantly drain. You have to weigh benefits and hindrances equally as you pick out your killer outfit.
Rift Keeper is available now on Steam.
