ITTA needs you to guide an unfortunate protagonist through devastating boss fights and challenging bullet arrays while tackling with grief and loss.
Suddenly awoken, you find your entire family dead and your family cat is a possessed ghost. Probably the definition of a rude awakening.
While you may have lost everyone precious to you, a mysterious spirit (in the form of your cat) seems eager to help you see your journey through to safety. It will even gift you your first weapon: your father’s glowing revolver. It’s a nice tool when you want to keep your distance from brazen bosses in a bullet hell. If you feel like you need to switch it up, though, there will be other weapons you can discover, along with other attack styles. It’s up to you how you want to trounce these tough foes.
As you journey, you’ll find other characters that may give you clues as to what happened and eerie ruins that you’ll need to conquer for answers. For those who feel the story has fully gripped them, but may not have the skills to dodge deadly attacks, there’s even an option for you! Whenever you need it, you can toggle invincibility or damage multipliers to get through the trickier phases. It’s absolutely optional, though.
ITTA wants you to enjoy the tale it tells and the battles it presents you, but it won’t lock you behind a skill wall if you’re having a hard time. You won’t want to miss out on these artistic scenes of pixel art mastery – so maybe fudge the numbers once in a while if you need to.
ITTA is available now on the Nintendo Switch and Steam.
