Jack Axe has you hurling axes and teleporting to them to cross pits and spikes. And if you can’t do it alone, maybe you can make those leaps by working together.
Lucky ol’ Jack has gotten ahold of an enchanted axe. A pretty cool find when you live in a world that seems oddly filled with spikes and pits. You can throw that thing in any direction (which works great because the place is full of monsters as well), but the best part is that you can teleport to it in mid-air or when its’ smashed against a wall. So, if your jump isn’t quite going to cut it, throw an axe and teleport yourself over to it. Problem solved!
The thing is, this place has been designed with those abilities in mind, so you can expect some challenging jumps littered all over the island. With some perseverance, you should be able to make all of those jumps eventually, but it may be easier to bring a couple of friends with you. You can bring a whole crew of local co-op players to try to make the jumps together. It makes for a busy screen, but the enemies won’t know what hit them. Even better, so long as one of the players makes it to the next checkpoint. you’ll all get to come along. Even players who die making the jump can still help out, as they can control their axe even in death. May as well chop down some baddies to help your living friends.
We tried Jack Axe out back at BitSummit a while back and had an absolute blast with it. So, you best believe we’re looking forward to giving the full release a spin.
Jack Axe is available now on the Nintendo eShop, Utomik, and Steam.
