What’s Pat to do when they find themselves at the center of a conspiracy that could bring down their whole family? Goof off with some minigames, that’s what.
Well, the minigames aren’t the central aspect of adorable adventure game Later Alligator (although there are thirty silly games for you to enjoy). You’re mainly looking to explore Alligator New York in hopes of finding clues as to this whole conspiracy thing, what with your family being in trouble because of it. Thing is, there’s about a hundred different folks all over this vibrant town, and who knows which of them have the information you need.
Not that trying to get this information is a chore. These folks are all quite charming, funny, and interesting in their own ways, making conversation a delight. It also gives the town a real small-town vibe as you get to know everyone, steadily growing to learn about their quirks and feel like you really fit in. Except for the fact that someone is clearly out to get you and your family. That does put a bit of a damper on the friendships you’re forging. Oh yeah, and depending on how well your sleuthing goes, you can get a number of endings. Meaning you can possibly mess this up permanently! Your mother will be so proud.
Later Alligator has a striking city filled with fun folks for you to meet, and all given visual personality through the developer’s animation style. The game’s got a lot of charm, from narrative to visual style to playfulness, so you’d best take a detour to this reptile-filled town soon.
Later Alligator is available now on itch.io and Steam.
