Misfortune Ramirez Hernandez is looking to give eternal happiness to her mommy, but bad luck, eerie presences, and supernatural events stand in the way in this point & click adventure.
From the developers of the delightful Fran Bow (and taking place in the same universe), Little Misfortune will have you following the title character throughout a world of cute discoveries and creepy events. Dancing the line between cute and frightening (and often hurtling right over it), the game looks to capture that same sense of innocence and the darkness that threatens to swallow it with its shifts in mood.
Little Misfortune aims to be an exploration of choice as well, giving you many different opportunities to make decisions for Misfortune. It’ll be up to you whether it’s a mistake or not to tell mommy you’re going out, but you’ll also be dealing with the consequences the child faces down the road. You don’t want to miss out on petting the Kraken based on a poor call, right (this is actually a thing you can do)?
With a story of missing children, monsters, childhood love, and going to the pet cemetery with a shovel, Little Misfortune looks to fulfill your desires for cuteness and terror (and excellent, twisting narratives) all at once.
Little Misfortune is slated for release sometime in 2019, according to its Steam page.
