As a squire, you’re not really the hero of this story. Instead, you’ll be providing support to your knight, indirectly saving the day (and maybe impressing a love interest or two).
CONTENT WARNING – Adult-type activities
War is coming, and you’ve only got a few months left to improve yourself and find someone to snuggle up with in Love Esquire. You won’t survive those few months if you can’t keep your knight in the fight, though. As a supporter, you can do things like taunt foes, cheer for your knight to raise their spirits, heal them if they’re wounded, and loot bodies for useful things your knight can equip. If you mess with each battle in just the right ways, your knight will find success and renown, and you’ll sort of become known by proxy. It’s one way to become famous-ish, I guess.
While being famous is nice, you’d still rather be popular with the various potential love interests in the game. Warriors, rulers, and more might develop some interest in you based on the stats you spent time raising, the conversation choices you make, and the gifts you bestow on them. Each has their own stories and lives to unveil to you if you grow close enough. Then again, if you make some absolutely terrible decisions, you might find yourself dying horribly before the end. Staying alive is important, too.
Love Esquire offers an unorthodox means of fighting your foes in an RPG, but through this support-focused heroism, you might find love and victory. Or you might die all alone because you’re gross and a bad assistant. Who knows?
Love Esquire is available now on itch.io and Steam.
