Mealmates will have you and some friends scrambling through tiny games as you work towards making a tasty person, with every move altering their flavor and texture.
I’ve been thinking that playing minigames to alter the flavor of someone I intend to eat is kinda strange, but I’ve played minigames to collect stars or do other pointless things in the past, so maybe this is a good new direction for me. For this game, you’ve got an array of oddball activities to take part in, earning morsels that you can feed to your chosen character to affect its texture, taste, and health. You’re gently trying to guide their tastiness as you kick cans through neighborhoods, snag food from conveyor belts, and choose fashionable outfits. You want your food to look good, right?
And if you’re going to start eating people, it’s best to have a group of friends helping you out, isn’t it? Going it alone might be hard with your new pass time. Plus, it’ll be way more fun to wander the game’s town and take part in its flavor-altering activities together. There’s much to explore when you’re not just experiencing the minigames, although you may not be entirely comfortable with the things you can find and take part in. Although cooking with the Kitchen Wytch should be a good time.
Mealmates looks to offer a ridiculous good time so long as you don’t think too hard on the ghoulish thing you’re working towards doing. Is this the most fun that cannibalism has ever been? Probably?
Mealmates is available now on itch.io and Steam.
