Minoria casts the players as Sisters Semilla and Fran, missionaries out to battle witches in the latest work from Bombservice, developer of the Momodora series.
Players are seeking to stop a witch’s ritual in Minoria. To do that, they’ll need to use swordplay and spells (and odd choice for someone who’s looking to fight witches), using an aggressive battle style that focuses on parries, rolling, and getting up in the enemy’s face.
While the characters are on a mission for the church, the narrative calls their mission one to “protect the common-folk from heresy that endangers the status quo,” seeming to imply that their cause may not be as just as the characters think it is. That Minoria is also “inspired by the history of medieval Europe”, it seems likely that a moral quandary may come up over the course of the game’s action.
Minoria, even at this early stage, offers a striking look, and with the developer’s history of excellent action adventure games, it promises to be a title to watch as it comes together.
Minoria is currently in development, but you can wishlist the game on Steam.
