The monsters of Knights of Tartarus are a pretty good-natured crew. Even if you fight with them, they’re still happy to teach you some of their abilities.
Rather than learn all of your fighting abilities through leveling up, you can pick up many tricks from the various fiends you’ll fight over the course of this RPG. Each monster in the game has an array of their own skills that you can learn, increasing your effectiveness in a fight. You’ll want to pay special attention to each of them, or hope that they’ll share their powers out of the kindness of their hearts once the fight is done. Which happens…strangely often?
Maybe you should feel guiltier for fighting them. Or is this all just one big friendly sparring match? Despite the monsters willingly teaching your their fighting techniques, they’re also willing to share some crafting gear with you after you thump them as well. Naturally, you can use this to make new gear, but again, why are these monster so happy to help out after you beat them up? Tartarus is a weird place, I tells ya.
It’s an open place, too. You’re free to roam wherever you like, finding unique terrain, dungeons, puzzles, and things to fight. You’ll need a lot of fancy items and equipment to get around, so don’t expect to just waltz on into wherever you want right from the start, though. With some exploration and perseverance, you should have all the tools you need to get by. If not, hopefully some of those helpful monsters will jump in. They’ve been kind enough about everything else.
Knights of Tartarus is available now on Itch.io and Steam.
