You’re kind of supposed to be helping your ailing grandfather, but with so much interesting stuff going on in the lives of the surreal creatures in town, it’s hard not to lose focus.
Mutazione follows Kai, a young woman who travels to the community of Mutazione in order to nurse her sick grandfather, Nonno. As you take care of him, you’re also free to explore the village and chat with the locals, steadily getting to know them through small-town gossip and conversation. And boy, the things you’ll learn as you talk to your neighbors.
Mutazione offers an entire community of characters with intertwined stories to unravel, unveiling monster secrets hidden by these unique creatures. Except, it all depends on who you take the time to talk to over an in-game week. Whose betrayals will you unveil? Whose secrets? Whose dirty laundry will you air? It all depends on who you befriend and what you find.
On top of small town secrets, you can also grow a musical garden that changes the audio of the game. And you can send those seeds out to other players. So, if being a snoop doesn’t appeal, how about creating a garden of song?
Mutazione‘s looking and sounding quite wonderful, all right.
