My Aunt is a Witch follows Thomas as he works to escape his old life by learning some magical powers from a relative, studying potion-making in a warm (yet slightly dangerous) setting.
Thomas’ dad has married a real keeper. She just plain doesn’t like Thomas at all (I can’t imagine marrying someone who DIDN’T like my kids), which leads the boy to consider taking up residence with one of his relatives. While most people have one cool relative they wouldn’t mind hanging with, for Thomas, this aunt is a real witch. Magic spells, talking cats, living objects; she’s got the whole deal. So, now Thomas just needs to figure out what his new life is going to look like in this enchanted place.
I called it enchanted, but that may not be the right word for a home where there’s so many dangerous magical objects lying around. A witch’s house is probably no the safest place for a kid (who knows NOTHING about magic) to be hanging out in, but it beats getting browbeaten at home. You’re just going to have to help Thomas roll with it, dealing with whatever creatures he finds or traps he sets off with some cunning and dialogue choices. You’re the one guiding the story, so it would be nice if you could lead Thomas to a happier place with his aunt along the way.
My Aunt is a Witch is a cute, uplifting story about the family you choose, as well as the magic you can find within the people you care about. And how you probably shouldn’t snoop around a magic house no matter how interesting it may seem.
My Aunt is a Witch is available now on the Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Store, and Microsoft Store.
