Chilling simulation game My Lovely Daughter will have you creating life and nurturing it, only to snuff it out to gain the power you need to bring your dead child back to life.
CONTENT WARNING – Child Abuse, Child Labor
Your young child has passed away, and the only way you know to revive them is through alchemy experiments. This requires funds and soul energy, both things that are hard to build up while you’re doing research. As such, you create child-like homunculi, putting them to work doing odd jobs for money around town, sacrificing their various forms to sell for additional funds, and slay them to harvest the soul energy they have inside of them.
A recent expansion, The Inquisitor, has added a new character who will be snooping on your unsettling experiments, altering how you can progress through the game. It will also offer some new story elements to be found with the villagers in town. Although, you’re probably already well beyond making all of the people in the city uncomfortable.
My Lovely Daughter is a deeply-uncomfortable simulation, one that delves into the concepts of child labor and the cruelties that some can inflict in the name of ‘love.’
My Lovely Daughter, as well as The Inquistor DLC, are available on Steam.
