Nitap: Legends of the First Nations takes players on a journey of exploration through the wilderness and through Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik traditions, language, and legends.
Nitap: Legends of the First Nations takes players through the woods of New Brunswick, Canada, meeting various spirits and animals along the way. By helping these animals or interacting with the lands around them, players will learn about traditional medicines, hear legends and stories, and take in aspects of First Nations culture.
As you move through these exploration segments, you’ll unlock oral stories from Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik
Elders that tell the player about their heritage and folkore. These captivating stories (told by clearly-excellent storytellers) are communicated alongside some charming animated segments, making these moments a wonderful reward for your wanderings.
Nitap: Legends of the First Nations is a delightful game that conveys history and legend in an accessible way, and a wonderful way of teaching yourself about Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik culture and lore.
Nitap: Legends of the First Nations is slated for release on the App Store and Google Play, and it is also on display at the iNdigital Space at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto from October 18-21, 2018.
