No Longer Home sees a pair of university grads getting ready to move out of their shared flat and into the unknown and unwelcoming world beyond.
Ao and Bo have finished their university programs, and are facing the yawning pit of uncertainty that comes next. What do you do for work? Where do you go from here? Ao faces even further challenges from a country that’s determined to get rid of them, forcing them home to Japan despite the bonds they’ve forged in South London. The pair have created a life for themselves here, and now it’s all getting upended in catastrophic fashion.
You’ll join them in these final days in their flat together, spending some time going through their possessions and memories. You’ll get to experience the bonds they form with neighbors and friends, and the connection they’ve created to this place in this moment in their lives. You’ll also have a little hand in guiding who they are through some decisions you make as they spend nights talking, playing games, and laughing with friends.
No Longer Home looks to capture an emotional, challenging time for anyone who remembers the first time they found a home for themselves – one they created with their chosen families. That first feeling of belonging that you’ve built yourself is a powerful one that tells you a lot about yourself, and leaving that behind can be quite painful even in a place that’s accepting of you. I’m very curious to get to know these two and their friends, even if a part of me dreads going through that heartache again.
No Longer Home is currently in development, but in the meantime, you can add it to your Steam Wishlist.
