Piloting a space ship is kind of like guiding a Cold War submarine in Objects in Space, forcing you to plan your stealth, combat, or travelling moves well in advance.
Objects in Space sets you free in a sprawling galaxy of trade partners, dangerous pirates, and interesting travelers, letting you choose which type of person you want to be within it. Do you go looking for trouble? Rob other ships? Help people find their way in the void of space? Start up your own shipping business? It’s up to you what you do in this world, customizing your ship and play style to suit your own needs.
These ships don’t exactly turn on a dime if you need them to, either. You will have to plan out the parts you need to best suit your play style, and even if you’ve got the best ship for the job, planning in advance will be key. Objects in Space‘s ships take time to maneuver, and require complex inputs and commands, feeling more like submarines. You’ll want to be scanning for potential troubles beforehand, as running quiet, finding a way out of danger, or launching an attack takes time.
Objects in Space offers many lives to live as you wander the stars, so long as you’re careful with yourself out there. Pacifist players don’t need to start trouble if they don’t want to, but you’ll still need a steady hand and a mind for planning to make the most out of your ship.
Objects in Space is available now on Steam.
