Oogy: Can You Help gets you to assist a sheep clean up a haunted house through deck-building battles. Or you could just break the furniture and be done with it.
A tumble in the fluffy snow has turned you into a sheep, somehow. You’re just the sheep a talking door has been looking for, and you get drawn into a house where the furniture and fixtures are all alive and in rotten moods. You have two paths you can take with these enraged end tables. You can clean them, or you can smash them to pieces. Cleaning furniture will get you some permanent cards for your deck, while killing things can get you some strong temporary cards. Your abilities will shift depending on which you choose, so you might want to take a minute before you tear up that sinister winter hat.
You can gather an array of cards, but like your ordinary household enemies, your cards can feel pretty ordinary as well. Cleaners, books, and tissues round out your early game arsenal (and are pretty solid cleaning supplies). Insecure hair brushes and other sillier items will help you later on with healing and fighting stronger foes. The game can be quite challenging as you struggle to keep the haunted house looking spotless, but there’s an absurdity to the normality of your furniture enemies and the tools you’re fighting them with. It’s got all the tension of a roguelite card game, just mixed with tasks that you’d likely do while cleaning your own place. Although yours may be less haunted.
Oogy: Can You Help is pleasantly goofy with its mundane, yet dangerous cleaning/furniture fighting tasks, but it has an interesting array of cards to keep you going as you decide the fate of windows, hamsters, and clocks.
Oogy: Can You Help is available now on Steam.
