A cat witch has brought you (sorta) back to life in Osteoblasts, having you take on the mantle of one of several warrior skeletons so you can fight sinister dogs.
It kind of makes sense since a cat witch brought you back to life, I guess? Well, that and all the dogs do feel kind of menacing. They don’t seem so cute when they’re glaring at you with glowing eyes and brandishing an umbrella. Although they’re kind of funny at the same time. Is there a word for when something is hilarious, but you are also reasonably sure you’re going to get stabbed with a garden tool? Anyway, you’ll become one of several different classes of skeleton combatants, using your special abilities to beat back your bony and furry foes.
Your class has an effect on the world around you, though, so there’s a narrative benefit to trying out the different styles. There’s also a few randomized elements that will keep the story and action from being completely the same if you use the same class twice. So, you can always enjoy getting treated like garbage in a myriad of ways. Apparently, even though this world is filled with spooky animals and undead, you’re still treated cruelly. Dunno what’s so untrustworthy about a skeleton. They literally have nothing to hide.
Osteoblasts is a funny, challenging RPG no matter which kind of skeleton you want to be (each of these bony heroes and villains look great, by the way). Plus, isn’t it about time that cute, fun skeletons took over the internet over dogs and cats?
Well, I think so.
Osteoblasts will be made available today on Steam.
