Path to Mnemosyne will find you winding and shifting its grayscale landscapes, zooming ever closer to unsettling sights and confounding mysteries in its console release.
Now available on the Nintendo Switch and PS4, Path to Mnemosyne follows a young woman ever-deeper into a twisted land. These foreboding environments offer many puzzles to be overcome through movement and shifting the environments, having you reshape the land so that you can continue to move further into this chilling place. Just don’t let the unsettling sounds and bizarre visions deter you along the way.
Path to Mnemosyne carries a discomforting feeling of zooming closer as you move forward, rather than a sensation of moving yourself. Even though you are moving your own character, it instead feels like reality itself is shuffling under your feet, with something creeping closer. With the frightening sounds and visions, it has an eerie effect on those playing it, as if something disturbing is rushing toward them with every step.
While this is a story about exploring your mind and finding lost memories within a series of mind-bending puzzles, the story is still open to interpretation. It will be up to you to find your own meaning in what you find as you explore these distorted lands, allowing you to shape the open story based on what you see. Now matter what, though, you’ll find some striking places within this world as it moves, ever closer, to you.
Path to Mnemosyne is available now on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Steam.
