petsitting needs you to take care of a buddy’s pet and to be really, really cool about things no matter how weird this favor gets.
You’ve been asked to take care of your friend’s dog. Doesn’t need much. You just have to feed them, bathe them, and put them to bed. But they’re not a dog. That or I need new glasses. Anyway, you can carefully craft a delicious meal out of carrots, tomatoes, and meat for the little guy. He gets pretty curious about the process which certainly didn’t make me jump out of my skin for a second there. Then, it’s off for some nice scrubbing in the tub and then bed time. Our worm pal doesn’t exactly put up a fight, so it’s an easy job.

Since we’re taking care of a massive worm/caterpillar thing, stuff gets a little weird here and there. Maybe he bites the heck out of your chest a bit. Maybe you and him share some sleeping pills when you really shouldn’t. Things get goofy throughout the experience, and I can honestly say I started to get attached to him even when he was tearing my chest open a bit. Something about brushing this little guy and then tucking him into bed made me warm up to him despite the gaping wounds. Or maybe that was the delirium setting in. I certainly did find myself wondering what was going on in my head when the nighttime portion of the game started.
petsitting seemed like it would be creepy. Maybe it still was, a little bit, given the amount of time I spent near an unsettling worm-like creature. But something about this whole experience is endearing in its silliness, and I have to say I’d take care of this dog again. Although I feel my buddy may have words for me when he gets back…

petsitting is available now (for whatever you wish to pay for it) on itch.io.
