Sometimes, a simple match-3 game that’s presented well can captivate you and take up a lot of your time. In Pocket Family Dreams, you’re fixing up your home.
Your family home is in quite a bad state, but you’re hoping to change all of that so that everyone can move back in! In real life, this looks like saving up money, hiring various contractors to make updates to the house, and shopping at loads of shops to get furniture. In video games, things are much different. You will be entering various match-3 puzzles, hoping to complete them for a star. These stars then can be spent on house upgrades and furniture for whatever room you are currently working on.
For the match-3 game, some of the levels just have a set number of a specific color of block that needs to be broken, while others have you breaking bubbles, balloons, bringing objects to the bottom of the screen, and much more. Like most match-3 games, when you have a large number of the same tiles near each other, they can be combined to make a power-up. These look like bombs, rockets, and stars that eliminate all tiles of that color.
As you go through and upgrade your home, you’ll unlock different characters who want that room to be built. These characters affect the match-3 portion of the game. Depending on who they are, they will randomly turn blocks into power-ups. These power-ups will match the character. There are also bonus use power-ups at the bottom of the screen, which you can purchase for real or in-game money, or unlock through updating the house.
Pocket Family Dreams is a very simple concept made with a lot of polish. It’s not anything new in the match-3 area, but it’s pretty likely to captivate your time if you do download it. The game is also family friendly and can be easily given to children to play.
Pocket Family Dreams is available now on Google Play.
