Port Valley tells the story of a day fraught with danger, misfortune, and above all, laughter as it shows you the world through the views of a delivery guy, a plumber, and a mystery character.
Port Valley is fast to invoke some nostalgia from players like me who grew up with these poke-at-themselves-while-breaking-the-fourth-wall-constantly type of point & click adventure games. An easy-to-use interface, attractive pixel art, a cast of wacky characters, and all sorts of hi-jinks – Port Valley has it all and then some. You’ll want to explore every nook and cranny to see how your character will react.
On your journey of exhausting every dialogue option for maximum witty banter (or when you’re plain stuck), you may also notice that NPCs are not so quick to give you items. That’s because Port Valley has active NPCs and the developer has said that their task might be ‘more important than yours’ – so, maybe don’t assault anyone if they don’t give you a piece of paper. You’ll also want to pay attention to clocks in this game because it features a day-night cycle. Perhaps a clue you need will only be present at certain times.
Port Valley’s demo gives players a taste of the humor and level of puzzle they will be able to experience. From what I could tell, it’s going to be a game to look forward to.
It also has a dog.
A demo for Port Valley is available on Itch.io and Steam.
