PROPHET tasks you with following an unsettling ritual through to its conclusion. But there’s a small chance you can alter your (?) fate.
Your village has chosen you to be the one to ascend to heaven and represent them. Lucky you. This probably sounded great when they were first talking about it, but once you arrive for the ritual, things are looking a little bit messy for a place where people head to a dimension of pure bliss and joy. I don’t know. Maybe I’m weird, but I’d think someone would mop up the spilled tea and broken glass in a place meant to be a place of transition to a holy world. Still, who am I to argue with the lady who keeps flipping her head upside down and talking out of her forehead?

You don’t have many decisions to make throughout this game, and things likely won’t go well for you the first time you go through things. However, you’re far from the only pilgrim who’ll show up here (how many pilgrims does this lady need?). While you might not be able to avoid your initial grim fate, maybe future attempts by the other pilgrims can play out differently. So, you’ll need to make small but meaningful choices to help steer the plot and awaken something within that talking forehead on the monstrous woman who keeps goading you through the ritual over and over. If you can do that, maybe you can save a part of yourself. Or, you know, accidentally make everything far worse. This IS a horror game, after all.
PROPHET doesn’t appear to offer much choice as you explore it, but if you carefully consider your environment and the choices you keep making, you can lead yourself to several grim or hopeful endings.
