You don’t want the enemies to see you coming in Greek myth-inspired Hegemone Pass, or else you’ll soon be dealing with every enemy that can cram themselves into a fight.
Persephone is Queen of the Underworld. Well, she was until her mom, Demeter, up and took over the Underworld with her army and dethroned her. Luckily for Persephone, she retained one of her powers despite the upset: the ability to allow mortals to challenge the divine. Which she just so happens to be able to use to bring three helpers in to aid her in taking back her title and saving her husband, Hades, from a similar fate.
Demeter’s army doesn’t aim to make this easy. If they catch site of your merry band, they’ll all come running. Like, every single enemy in the area will. If a ton of them are all in the area when you start a turn-based fight, you’ll find yourself dealing with them all at once. Oh yeah, and all they need to do is to kill your chosen leader in that fight to beat you. So, you’ll want to use your characters and their powers (gliding, breaking rocks, sneaking through tight spaces) to platform around each level and avoid detection.
When you get into a fight, you’ll be looking to take out the enemy leader to end things quickly. You only have to defeat whoever is designated as the leader in each battle, but the enemies have to do the same to you. As such, the game offers many different ways of changing the leader on your side as well as the enemy’s, and being the leader offers unique abilities that can help make a big difference in a fight. It’s a complex system that can make for some interesting battles in this cute RPG, offering a sharp spin on turn-based battles.
Plus, Hegemone Pass‘ characters are super cute.
Hegemone Pass is currently in development, but you can support its creation on Kickstarter (and grab a demo through the game’s site).
Looking promising. I’ll share it. Have a great day.
