Chaining attacks into combos will tangle up foes and open them up for reams of extra damage in Sacred Earth – Promise.
A pair of sisters – a mercenary and her long-suffering sibling – put aside their differences to battle in a tournament set amongst Sacred Earth – Promise‘s floating continents. An old friend appears with some relic hunters, though, setting off a chain reaction of events that will lead to adventure, danger, and everyone behaving themselves and taking their turns during a fight.
Sacred Earth – Promise‘s turn-based battles take some inspiration from fighting games in that you can link attack moves together, keeping an enemy locked down while you load on extra damage. A your combos build up, you’ll fill the EX gauge, which can be used to hit for even more damage or heal yourself, giving you some handy options in a pinch.
You can expect some familiar top-down exploration as you wander the lands of Sacred Earth – Promise, but if you’re not interested in walking through the overworld, you can use the game’s Symbol Map to just move from node to node, dealing with events that occur at each. There are also a handful of difficulty levels to choose from if you want to make the sisters’ lives harder or easier. Just because we’re all being good and taking our turns in a fight doesn’t mean a giant snake won’t mess up your day, after all.
Sacred Earth – Promise is available now on Itch.io and Steam.
