Tiger men, sinister lobsters, and and dudes who dress like skeletons will duke it out using chain-able attacks in Schwarzerblitz, a fighting game inspired by early 3D fighters.
Schwarzerblitz‘s array of oddball characters (there’s twenty-two of them, including a raptor with a minigun) all have their own attacks, as all honest fighting folk should. Most of their attacks are able to be chained into one another, though, giving you the ability to come up with your own combos on the fly, or plan a devastating series of moves. Not that this is a race to see who can land the first hit and keep their foe locked down, as there are counter moves that can stop the combo, letting the opponent inflict the pain.
You are free to change Schwarzerblitz‘s controls however you like, allowing you to pick the control scheme that works the best for you. If you need even more customizability than that, you can also mod your own characters into the game, if you’re feeling extremely energetic and think that drunken shark men and the rest of this eclectic crew just aren’t enough fighters for you.
When savoring the fluid combos and wild cast, be sure to take in Schwarzerblitz‘s visual style, which emulates early PSX fighters. It’s a style that evokes a unique time for the genre, one filled with experimentation and new possibilities, and adds a definite charm to the game. Well, if you like your fighting characters as unique and silly as possible, that is.
An open beta for Schwarzerblitz is available for download on GameJolt.
