Birds are capable skateboarders. I didn’t know that, and maybe you didn’t either. Luckily, SkateBIRD is in the works, a game that will teach you all about birds doing kickflips and grinds in tiny skate parks.
SkateBIRD drops you in a little skate park made of straws, scissors, cardboard, and staplers, having you guide a little red bird as they ride through it. You can use your speed and the stuff that’s lying around to do some various cute tricks, as well as throw in a flutter here and there to maintain that air for a few more moments. Birds do have an edge on human skateboarders there.
As your little bird gets better at skateboarding, they’ll be able to build up a following on Tweeter, a prominent social network among birds. As your fame grows, you’ll notice some avian friends might show up to see what’s going on at your park. Maybe you can become pals with them, or even host your own little skating events right in the comfort of your own home.
SkateBIRD looks to be immediately familiar to folks who’ve done a little digital Pro Skating before, or those who have lived as skateboarding birds in another life (although the developers don’t advertise the latter feature). Still, even if you don’t have past experience, doing little tricks with a cute bird wearing tiny headphones will be a hard thing to pass up once the game releases.
SkateBIRD is currently in development, but you can add it to your wishlist on Steam.
