Small Saga puts a magnifying glass on the activities of our smaller friends, having us aid a brave mouse standing up against a God in an RPG that won’t have a single random encounter.
Verm, our mouse protagonist, is on the search for his tail – stolen by the Yellow God of Death. The journey to get back that missing body part will be full of conflict without the time sink of random encounters. Every battle will be purposeful and tactical, created to be a specific challenge for you.
There are many kingdoms to pass through and solve problems in as you seek your removed tail. Rodents are a lot more political than one may think. You may even have to overthrow an oppressive regime. You won’t be without a few helpful hands, though. You’ll come across anything from a lighter-wielding mage mouse to a squirrel bard (with a pencil-flute). They’re all for overthrowing things.
Small Saga is overflowing with creativity and style, as is plain to see from the art and design. Each character and their respective weapons have been lovingly created, with a wonderful attention to detail for the small world they’re inhabiting. What we may take for granted may become a valuable piece of equipment to protect yourself. Like a thimble. That’s a perfectly good helmet, right there.
And I mean, come on, look at the amazing detail in these battles. How can you not want to help this tiny hero?
Small Saga has a demo available on Itch.io. You can also support the game on Kickstarter.
