Songs for a Hero – A Lenda do Herói sets you on a noble adventure with a soundtrack that narrates your deeds through song.
You’re out to save the day! At least, I think you are? I guess I’m kind of jumping to conclusions about what our shaggy-haired avatar is up to. They seem to be doing good, what with all of the stabbing of nasty snakes and pharaoh scorpions. I really hope you’re doing the right thing as you hack at enemies and delve deep into foreboding temples.
Whether you’re cutting a swath through the countryside for good or ill, a dynamic soundtrack will sing about your every single deed along the way? Get slammed by the aforementioned scorpion? Your unseen bard accompaniment will come up with some lyrics about your misfortune? Complete a level with particular grace and the soundtrack will laud your abilities. Die in a ridiculous way and the music starts to take little digs at you. It’s quite an experience to have everything you do get sung about, making for a silly journey no matter how your travels are going.
Songs For a Hero offers you a charmingly retro action adventure filled with big, colorful bosses and lush lands to wander, but the addition of its goofy soundtrack makes it really stand out. Having a ballad about your heroism (or your clumsiness) get crafted in real time is a special treat, and I’m very curious about the musical results of my fumbling attempts at heroism.
Songs for a Hero – A Lenda do Herói is available now on Steam.
