Source of Madness, currently in an early demo, sees you fighting epic procedurally-generated monsters!
You are a shrouded individual looking to move through this world full of monsters. Each monsters is unique, generated through parts. These various parts – heads, pinchers, tentacles, large crystal spikes – make for a very interesting look. But don’t linger in your staring; they do long for your death.
You are able to shoot your way through these enemies and their strange movements. Various rings can be found, either around the world or thought the slaughter of various enemies, giving you different bullet patterns to help you survive as well.
The world itself, at this stage, isn’t that big, but does come with a few different turrets and buildings to move around, as well as plenty of trees. You can climb over these trees, watching them bend under your weight.
Source of Madness features a hand-drawn visual style, which, personally, I find adds to the strangeness in this dark platformer. So far, I quite like the creatures I need to defeat and the world I get to explore in. I’m excited to see what the developer has in-store for this little game.
Source of Madness is available for free, on GameJolt.
